I think I just fell in love. Not with a boy, but with my shampoo and conditioner. Yes, that may be melodramatic, but I don't care -- and if you tried Shu Uemura Art of Hair Full Shimmer Illuminating Shampoo and Conditioner for Natural to Color-Treated Hair (say that three times fast), I know you would feel the same way.

Beauty News: Shu Uemura to Exit United States

Post a comment!

Shu Uemura, beauty, beauty newsSuch sad news ... Shu Uemura will be exiting the United States this year. L'Oreal announced this week that Shu Uemura will be closing all US operations. This will give L'Oreal the opportunity to focus domestically on more luxury brands including Kiehl's and Lancome.

However, the website will remain up and running -- so you can still stock up on those ever-important eyelash curlers!

Recently, I had the pleasure of checking out New York's Butterfly Studio. I'd been curious about the space for quite awhile -- I kept seeing it pop up in various magazines and blogs, and it always sounded amazing. Luckily, I had the absolute best experience! The fabulous Eli Santos gave me the Shu Uemura Moisture Velvet Treatment, and WOW. My tresses have never been softer!

The "Eyes" Have It: Shu Uemura Depsea Moisture Replenishing Eye Gel

Post a comment!

Well, my eyes have never looked better ... and it's all thanks to Shu Uemura Depsea Moisture Replenishing Eye Gel. This tiny little blue tube has totally changed my life. Two quick swipes in the morning and my tired eye area perks right up. This creamy gel has completely revitalized my entire skincare regimen! We're talking no bags, no puffiness, no dark circles.

The fabulousness is due to two impressive ingredients: Up first: depsea water, which matures in the depths of the ocean for a rich combination of minerals that are ideal for skincare. And let's not forget the three essential seaweed extracts: blue algae (one of the oldest forms of algae with Vitamin B group protein, lipids and minerals), red seaweed (rich in zinc and polysaccharides) and brown seaweed (rich in essential amino acids), all of which help to lock in moisture.

The final analysis? This handy little tube makes my day.

Shu Uemura Depsea Moisture Replenishing Eye Gel retails for $45.

Long, lush lashes? I used to think that my tube of Diorshow Mascara was enough to keep me happy. (And, for all intensive purposes, it still does get the job done.) But after my experience this weekend at the Shu Uemura Lash Bar, I have definitely seen the light when it comes to fake lashes.

R.I.P.: Shu Uemura

Post a comment!

It's a sad day in the beauty world. Legendary cosmetics creator Shu Uemura passed away on December 29 due to acute pneumonia. Whether he was acting as makeup artist on films like "My Geisha" or creating some of the best products around (including the always-fabulous Eyelash Curler is a perennial favorite), he was a pioneer in the world of beauty and will be sorely missed.
