Reader Question: Is There a Good Replacement for Frederic Fekkai Straight Away?

Awhile back, I wrote about the product that was so great, it hurt my heart when it was discontinued. I'm speaking, of course, about Frederic Fekkai Straight Away. (Click here for a recap.) Recently, my reader Annabel emailed me asking whether I'd ever found a replacement. "I can't find anything that works as well -- everything I've tried is too heavy and sticky," she lamented.

Good news, Annabel! While I'm still mourning the loss of my favorite hair product ever, I have found a couple great alternatives that get the job done more than adequately.

Frederic Fekkai, Frederic Fekkai Coiff Controle Ironless Straightening Balm, Fekkai hair, Fekkai hair product, hair, hair product, styling product, styling creme, styling creamFrederic Fekkai Coiff Controle Ironless Straightening Balm ($25 at spacenk.com): Since I just can't shake my Fekkai obsession, I went for a creamier version of my beloved Straight Away. A few pumps are all that's needed to maintain straight, frizz-free locks throughout the course of a blowout.

Pantene, Pantene Pro-V, Pantene Pro-V NatureFusion, Pantene Pro-V NatureFusion Smoothing Creme, Pantene hair, Pantene Pro-V hair, hair, hair product, styling product, styling creme, styling creamPantene Pro-V NatureFusion Smoothing Creme ($5.99): If you're looking for a more budget-friendly option, this is the way to go. I use three pumps and smooth evenly throughout my hair, first concentrating on the ends and then moving up to the roots. It won't weigh locks down and doesn't feel greasy -- and frizz is at a minimum!

I hope this helps, Annabel. Good luck to everyone else who's as saddened as I am by the loss of the fabulous Frederic Fekkai Straight Away!
