Awhile back, I wrote about the product that was so great, it hurt my heart when it was discontinued. I'm speaking, of course, about Frederic Fekkai Straight Away. (Click here for a recap.) Recently, my reader Annabel emailed me asking whether I'd ever found a replacement. "I can't find anything that works as well -- everything I've tried is too heavy and sticky," she lamented.
Good news, Annabel! While I'm still mourning the loss of my favorite hair product ever, I have found a couple great alternatives that get the job done more than adequately.
Frederic Fekkai Coiff Controle Ironless Straightening Balm ($25 at spacenk.com): Since I just can't shake my Fekkai obsession, I went for a creamier version of my beloved Straight Away. A few pumps are all that's needed to maintain straight, frizz-free locks throughout the course of a blowout.
Pantene Pro-V NatureFusion Smoothing Creme ($5.99): If you're looking for a more budget-friendly option, this is the way to go. I use three pumps and smooth evenly throughout my hair, first concentrating on the ends and then moving up to the roots. It won't weigh locks down and doesn't feel greasy -- and frizz is at a minimum!
I hope this helps, Annabel. Good luck to everyone else who's as saddened as I am by the loss of the fabulous Frederic Fekkai Straight Away!
