All That Absinthe and Can-Can: The Body Shop Absinthe Purifying Hand Gel

"After the first glass of absinthe you see things as you wish they were. After the second you see them as they are not. Finally you see things as they really are, and that is the most horrible thing in the world." -- Oscar Wilde

Maybe it's because I've only ever had one glass of absinthe at a time, but I happen to really love it -- and therefore disagree with Oscar Wilde. Plus, I love seeing things as they really are ... no rose-colored glasses here! (Only absinthe-colored minty ones.) In any case, I'm definitely head over heels for The Body Shop Absinthe Purifying Hand Gel.

I've never really been one to carry hand sanitizers around, even though I live in dirty old NYC. But ever since I started using this little bottle, I can't seem to get enough! The scent is minty, heady and fresh with notes of bergamot, petit grain and neroli. It sinks into skin without making hands feel sticky or greasy. And, most importantly, it makes them feel CLEAN -- which I can't seem to get enough of after being forced to grab onto a pole in a crowded subway!

This hand gel, as one might expect, is also perfect for travel. And, since I travel quite frequently, of course that makes me almost as overjoyed as the knowledge that I'm carrying absinthe around in my purse.

The Body Shop Absinthe Purifying Hand Gel retails for $4 at thebodyshop.com.
