Throwback Thursday: That Time I Went a Little Crazy with the Eye Makeup

Fun fact about me ... I was in my high school show choir, Soundsation. (We were better than the choir on Glee. And cooler. I swear.) Well, being in Show Choir meant many things, but one thing it DEFINITELY meant was that I wore a boatload of eye makeup in every performance. The more grey eyeshadow and black eyeliner, the better.

Another fun fact about me? In high school, I had absolutely no idea how to APPLY eyeliner. How far I've come. But this meant that I was constantly at the mercy of my friends who were better at wielding eyeliner pencils than I was ... and, sometimes, it meant I might end up wearing a BIT more makeup than I should have.

Case in point: the photo above. I was, simply put, wearing more eye makeup than any girl has a right to. This was taken at the end of the evening, after we had performed in (and, sadly, lost) a show choir competition. (Like my oversized Friends T-shirt and green flannel pants?) I don't remember who did my makeup that night, but I do think they were a BIT heavy handed with the liner. Not sure raccoon eyes were ever supposed to be a thing!

Were you ever a bit too generous with your eye makeup? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Haha! I think we all have makeup faux pas in our past that we would like to forget. I for one used to wear the frostiest ice pink lipstick EVERY DAY. It was so awful, but I thought I looked so cool at the time... nope.
