My New Must-Have: M.A.C Pearlglide Intense Eye Liner

Do I ever have a fabulous product to share with you today! I've had M.A.C Pearlglide Intense Eye Liner sitting in my stash for quite awhile. I kept thinking about breaking it out, but then I wouldn't line my eyes for the day (gasp!) or I would worry that it would be too heavy. Well, color me impressed -- because this is definitely my new favorite eyeliner.

The "Eyes" Have It: Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Eye Pencil in Bronze
I look tired unless I wear eyeliner (or tons or mascara) and right now I’m totally into Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Eye Pencil in Bronze. I used to be a black eyeliner loyalist -- I just couldn’t find the right shade of brown to compliment my eyes -- but after trying this slightly shimmery dark brown liner, I’m hooked! It gives my eyes definition and depth, and the metallic sheen gives just the right amount of brightness to the eye area. I’m loving it as my everyday look -- no more harsh black liner in the gorgeous summer sun.
The creamy formula glides on smoothly and really does last all day. It’s advertised as a 12-hour wear pencil, and I put it to the test. No amount of smudging or eye rubbing (I know eye rubbing is a no-no, but there’s just so much dust in the city!) could get this beauty off my eye. I even went for a swim and it lasted until I washed my face in the shower! How amazing is that!
Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Eye Pencil retails for $19.

Fact or Fiction: LOST's Nestor Carbonell Wears Eyeliner

I have a confession to make. I am totally and utterly addicted to the show LOST. I actually didn't get into it until about three months ago, when I seriously spent every waking hour watching the series online to get caught up before the new season started two weeks ago. (Trust me, you will get a headache watching the show this way. But it is worth it.)
Well, I have spent many an hour dissecting every single solitary mystery on that show. One I simply can't get over is the fact that Nestor Carbonell, who plays the seemingly never aging Richard, wears eyeliner. So how excited was I to come across this article from SciFi Wire, which put the entire argument to bed when writer Fred Topel straight up asked him about it! Get the answer after the break.

Must-Have Mondays: M.A.C Pearlglide Eye Liner

A liner that stays on the waterline without creasing or smudging. A liner that looks fabulous no matter which color you pick. A liner that glides on easily and creamily without any need for fixing or touchups. Who knew all of this could be possible in one little pencil? But with M.A.C Pearlglide Eye Liner, it just is.
These handy dandy little pencils come in a variety of shades that are all flattering and utterly gorgeous. But more than that, the application is just absolutely flawless. I've never had such an easy time drawing a line across my lashline -- I usually have to work a bit, really tracing and fixing the color. But with this liner, it's just effortless. It glides across the lid so easily, you'd swear it was tracing the line by itself!
And the colors, oh, the colors. Choose from the following hues:
Molasses (glittery dark brown)
Miss Fortune (eggplant tinged with pink glitter)
Rave (glittery purple)
Spare Change (brown tinged with copper glitter)
Black Russian (black with navy blue glitter)
Wolf (grey tinged with gold glitter)
Bankroll (glittery dark green)
Fly-by-Blue (glittery light blue)
My favorite is definitely Rave. The deep violet hue is somehow subtle enough to appear almost black -- but at closer range, the sparkle-bedecked purple really stands out. And it looks amazing with shadows ranging from brown to black to grey to silver to green to ... well, you get the point.
Whichever shade you choose, you can be confident that your eyes will seriously pop with color and glimmer! M.A.C Pearlglide Eye Liner retails for $14.50 at maccosmetics.com.

Lusts of the Week
Well, fellow beauty chicks, good news. Today is my Friday! Tomorrow I head to the wonderful city of Cleveland, OH for a dear friend's three-day wedding extravaganza. In my bag -- unfortunately not a carry-on, as I have way too many outfits and products to pack! -- will be these products for sure. Because what would a week in the life of this beauty chick be without some lust-worthy products?

Smoke-Out: M.A.C Powerpoint Eye Pencil
I'm quite sure all beauty chicks can relate to the saga I'm about to tell. It seems I've been on a neverending quest for the perfect eyeliner for as long as I can remember. I've searched high and low for that one perfect pencil to complete me ... adding just the right amount of oomph to a smoky eye, but stopping just short of that crazy Cleopatra look so many seem destined to appropriate.
