Hanging out with my college roommate (and still best friend!) David at a party in college. And, yes, rocking purple lipstick. |
Now, to be fair, I was in college in the late 1990s/early 2000s, so this obsession was totally relevant and on trend. EVERYONE was wearing purple lipstick. But this one I discovered from Bath & Body Works (which, sadly, I don't have anymore and have no clue about its name) was PERFECTION. It was dark but not TOO dark, deep but not TOO deep, shimmery but not TOO shimmery. I loved that it had red undertones and gold sparkle. It lasted forever. And -- maybe the best part of all -- it made me feel happy.
Hey, at least I didn't do the dark liner with pale lipstick thing.
What beauty trend from years past did you try that makes you cringe a little today? Let me know in the comments!
Brown lipstick for sure
ReplyDeleteFrosty eye shadow! man, that was all I wore!
ReplyDeleteI wore lilac lipstick to prom. It matched my dress perfectly. Hello, 1998 lmao
ReplyDeleteI used to line both my waterlines (so upper eyelid and lower eyelid) with a black pencil. It made my eyes look so tiny!
ReplyDeleteThis picture is really really adorable <3 such a happy face!
Frosty lipstick is probably my worst makeup sin. When I first started wearing makeup I went behind my mom's back and bought this frosty pink lipstick she wouldn't let me have. I thought I was so cool wearing it. Now, I look at pics and cringe. Terrible!
