Throwback Thursday: The Birthday Present That Helped Create a Future Beauty Blogger

Victoria's Secret, Victoria's Secret Pear Glace Body Lotion, #tbt, Throwback Thursday, birthday present, Jamie Allison Sanders
For my 14th birthday, my (awesome) brother gave me a present that really ended up changing my beauty game. I unwrapped the package he handed me to discover Victoria's Secret Pear Glace Scented Body Lotion waiting for me inside.

To be honest, this wasn't the first brush I'd had with a beauty obsession -- far from it, since I'd been slathering on stage makeup for about 10 years already (notably in The King and I and Pinocchio). But this WAS the first time I really remember trying a bath and body product other than the Dove soap I'd been using since about birth.

Now, let me be clear about something. I loved this scent from the very first moment I opened up the bottle. It was sweet yet not cloying and completely intoxicating. Over the years, I've bought and bought (and rebought) this scent in both lotion and body wash. I'm actually fairly obsessed! I love that it makes me remember how sweet my brother was to buy it for me in the first place.

Side note: I really loved that flannel shirt I'm wearing here. I got it at DOTS and wore it at least once a week throughout the 8th grade. (I loved it so much, I even wore it in my 8th grade class picture.) You can also see how careful I was to coordinate my socks with the purple in the shirt's plaid pattern.

Now you'll have to excuse me while I go and purchase more Pear Glace Body Wash...
