My Skincare Holy Grail: Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick in Porcelain

You know what's super fun? A huge, unprecedented eruption on your face. Especially when you're on a belated birthday trip to Las Vegas with your brother and it comes out during your first day there. (Yes, this just happened to me a few weeks ago.) This was seriously a case for the big guns ... so I ran instantly to the Sephora across the street from my hotel and purchased the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick in Porcelain.

Honestly, I really didn't know what to do. This pimple on my face was of epic proportions -- and, OF COURSE, it was bright red and completely impossible to miss. Let me tell you, it made me feel absolutely beautiful. I really didn't know what to do, because I typically don't wear foundation, concealer, bronzer, blush, really anything at all on my face. Thankfully I had a facial scheduled at the Sahra Spa & Hammam at the Cosmopolitan, and my facialist had incredible things to say about this foundation stick. I felt I needed to purchase it just based on her glowing reviews!

I would actually classify this product as more of a concealer than a foundation. I wouldn't really want to use it all over my face, but it's perfect as a spot treatment. It comes in over 20 shades, so there really is one for every skin tone imaginable -- even one as pale and Casper-like as my own.

After standing in front of the display and trying out a few different shades, I settled on Porcelain, which is the second lightest shade in the collection. Immediately upon application, it was impossible to see even a hint of the glaringly red pimple lurking beneath. I was actually pretty surprised at just how well this stick covered every ounce of redness.

But I don't only love this stick because of the color and its ability to cover pimples. No, my love goes much deeper than that. The formula is creamy and lush, and applies well either over moisturizer or on its own. It doesn't flake or become obvious throughout the day, and it's incredibly buildable. I've been applying it with my fingers, though a brush could work too -- but I find that finger application helps me really cover any blemishes in a flash while making it seem natural.

I really don't know how I lived before discovering this foundation stick. How could I have gone so long wihtout the perfect coverup? Thankfully, that's a thing of the past.

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick in Porcelain retails for $44 at sephora.com.

  3. I also have never tried Bobbi Brown foundations, not entirely sure why. I am usually very dry so stick foundations and concealers I have to mix with moisturizer otherwise I look scaly.

  5. I haven't tried this yet. I stay away from stick foundations because they're too creamy IMO

  9. I have heard some great things about this foundation but since I don't use foundation, I really am not sure how it works, so I'm glad for the review and rundown :)
