LOOKS FOR #BOUNDOWEEN
While I didn't participate in this challenge every day, I definitely enjoyed the ones where I dropped in! It was fun to think outside the bounding box and come up with looks for characters and fandoms besides Disney.
Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice! I HAD to do a look inspired by
the ghost with the most. I decided to wear this maxi skirt as a dress,
added a green headband to replicate his green hair, and used this
adorable mini bag modeled after The Handbook for the Recently Deceased.
Plus, I shot this in my spooky apartment courtyard. I love how it turned
out!
Amazon skirt. Balbina Boutique headband. KJF Jewelry earrings. Bioworld bag. JustFab sneakers.
"I got a rock." What's your favorite Halloween special, and why is it
"It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!"? This one was a true labor of
love. I shot it with my tripod in my apartment "graveyard", which was
pretty difficult since I had a sheet over my head and literally couldn't
see anything! I just hoped that 1) I was actually in the shot 2) no one
would come along and steal my tripod and phone while the sheet was over
my head. I also added the dots in Picsart afterward. This one
definitely came out exactly how I envisioned!
Target sheet. Free People sunglasses. JustFab sneakers.
"There's no place like home." For a day inspired by The Wizard of Oz,
I teamed up with my favorite buddy bounder — my awesome mom! While I
may not have ever gotten to play Dorothy, at least I could live out my
fantasies by bounding like her. Plus, how amazing is my mom as The Tin
Man?
ASOS romper. Jennifer Loiselle earrings. Quirky Crate purse. Dolce & Gabbana shoes.
"Dip the apple in the brew. Let the Sleeping Death seep through." For
the Disney Villains prompt, I chose the Evil Queen from Snow White. As
villains go, she's truly terrifying! Plus, my friend Cari told me that
my sparkly Docs are reminiscent of the Dwarves' jewels!
Amazon cardigan and purse. ASOS dress. Rarity by Casey headband. Little Something Studio earrings. Doc Martens boots.
"Off with her head!" This was definitely a last minute bound, but I'm
really happy with how it came together — especially for shooting it at
7am right outside my apartment door! Also, it's REALLY hard for me not
to smile in photos.
Diane von Furstenberg top. Anthropologie pants. Castle Crystals sunglasses. Sweetflower Kiss earrings. Rebecca Minkoff purse. JustFab heels.
LOOKS INSPIRED BY GHOSTBUSTERS
Yes, I love Ghostbusters. Can you tell?! This year I decided to do three separate bounds inspired by the characters in the movie, mainly spurred by the two amazing Loungefly bags I simply had to buy. And also because I am SUPER excited for Ghostbusters: Afterlife!
"Back off, man. I'm a scientist." I shot this Peter Venkman bound at
the New York Public Library during my trip to New York back in August
(click here to check out my stay at The Ludlow Hotel!). My
friend @secondstarrunner was incredible enough to shoot it for me, and I
absolutely love what we captured! Plus, this Loungefly Ghostbusters
backpack is MY FAVORITE PURCHASE TO DATE. I've been using it nonstop!
Amazon dress. Zenni Optical glasses. Imyourpresent earrings. Loungefly backpack. Converse sneakers.
"I tried to think of the most harmless thing. Something that could never, ever possibly destroy us. Mr. Stay-Puft." I created a Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man bound last year and it was one of my favorite looks ever. This year I decided to do a brand-new one and shoot it outside my awesome spooky apartment complex. The earrings really bring it to life, don't you think?
Unique Vintage dress. Chronicles of a Pixie headband. Freckles Mark earrings. Loungefly backpack. Chloe pumps.
"He slimed me." YOU GUYS. LOOK AT THIS SLIMER BACKPACK. How could I
NOT create a Slimer bound with it?! All that's missing is a pouch of
Hi-C Ecto-Cooler!
Christopher John Rogers for Target dress. Freckles Mark sunglasses. The Foxy Hipster earrings. Loungefly backpack.
LOOKS FOR CANDY CORN WEEK
Why yes, I did in fact dedicate an entire week's worth of outfits to the best candy there is — CANDY CORN! And it's not just about the aesthetic, I truly love the candy. Do not come for me! I could think of nothing sweeter than creating five different looks inspired by the candy that makes my Halloween spooky AND sweet!
Amazon tutu (worn as a dress) and sunglasses. Enchanted Alexandra headband. Messypink earrings. Loungefly bag. JustFab sneakers.
I'm a candy corn. Duh. These are definitely some of those items that sit in my closet all year, just WAITING for their chance to shine. And shine they did!
Yandy poncho and hat. Modcloth leggings. Amazon sunglasses. Femme de Bloom earrings. JustFab booties.
Unique Vintage cardigan. Calvin Klein dress. Amazon earrings and headband. BaubleBar for Target earrings. JustFab booties.
Free the Roses from Nuuly dress. Made By Magic Designs headband. Amazon sunglasses. Pretty Magical Supply earrings. JustFab sandals.
Urban Outfitters from Nuuly dress. Best Day Ever Ears Co. Minnie ears. Warby Parker sunglasses. Ethereal Creations earrings. Teva sandals.
LOOKS FOR DISNEYLAND
There's just nothing like going to Disneyland during Halloween. And while I always love trying all the spooky treats (Alien Vampire Macaron, I'm looking at you!), it's also always so much fun to just walk around and take in the Halloween vibes. Also, if you don't get a picture with the Mickey Pumpkin on Main Street, have you even really gone to Disneyland during Halloween?
Ah, the Mickey pumpkin. It's how you truly know you're at Disneyland for Halloween! And what better companion than this AMAZING Hocus Pocus backpack?!
ASOS dress. Best Day Ever Ears Co. Minnie ears. Sweetflower Kiss earrings. Loungefly backpack.
Okay, yes, I used this dress twice! But really, can you blame me?! I love the candy corn vibes! I actually wore it here before the photo above, during my first night at Disneyland during Halloween time!
Free the Roses from Nuuly dress. Enchanted Alexandra headband. Zenni Optical sunglasses. Made By Magic Designs earrings.
There are many things that make this one of my favorite photos from all of Halloween season. 1) It's my new favorite pose to show off awesome Minnie ears. 2) I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS POLKA DOT DENIM JUMPSUIT. 3) It's definitely the best photo I've ever taken in front of Mickey's Fun Wheel on Pixar Pier. 4) THAT LIGHT THOUGH.
Porridge from Nuuly jumpsuit. Loungefly Minnie ears and bag. Warby Parker sunglasses. Kreeture Feature McBoo pumpkin bucket earrings.
