Much like the green manicure, this was a pretty intense process. As you can see from the swatches on the paper above, many colors were considered before I narrowed it down to the final five! And while I have a LOT of pink nail polishes, this actually was pretty difficult -- I didn't really have a lot of colors in between the lightest and the darkest hues. I can't say I'm 100 percent happy with the final array, only because I wish the difference between the thumb and index fingers was more pronounced -- but I do like the effect of the index through pinky fingers. That being said, I do LOVE all five of the colors individually!
So what did I end up using, you may wonder? Here's the breakdown:
Thumbs: Tenoverten Jane (I love Tenoverten, as you may recall. It's the only place I get my nails done now, if I'm not doing them myself! And their line of polish is so cool -- the colors are fantastic and they're all named after streets in New York!)
Index fingers: Dior Rose Dauphine
Middle fingers: Chanel Riviera
Ring fingers: Sephora by OPI Betsey Johnson It's My Pink
Pinky fingers: Dolce & Gabbana Passione
All are seen with two coats, with the exception of the Dior, which needed three for full opacity. And, while I absolutely love this color and can't wait to do a whole manicure with it, I am slightly bothered by the fact that it has shimmer while the other four are creams. But I just didn't have another pale pink that would work here, so, such is life!
One more shot of the manicure! You can really see the shimmer in the Dior here. |
