My Top 3 Beauty Tips

Remember when I told you about my 5 favorite beauty products? Well, I realized that there's another question I ask every person I interview, but that I've never answered myself:

What are your top 3 beauty tips?

Read on to find out what my top 3 are.

1) Have FUN. Makeup and beauty products are supposed to make you feel good about yourself! Trying purple eyeshadow or a pompadour might not work out -- or they might be the best looks you've ever tried -- but you won't know until you, well, TRY. If you don't like the eyeshadow, take it off. If you don't like the hairstyle, take it out. But experimenting and trying different things are the only way you'll succeed in finding looks that work for you. And, really, makeup IS fun! Just check out the photo of me above, from a friend's 80s-themed birthday party a few years back. Is this a look I'd rock every day? Probably not. But was it amazing to don a side ponytail, blue eyeshadow up to my eyebrows and different colored neon nails for one night? Of course!

2) Wear rubber gloves when you wash dishes. I've done this my whole life -- it's something I learned from my mom and grandma. And, while I used to do it just because washing dishes in scalding water hurt my hands, I then realized it protects my manicure, too. It keeps my hands in tip-top shape and prevents my manicure from chipping. What could be better?

3) Drink tons of water. For me, this tip is two-fold. Not only does it make my skin clearer and more hydrated (imagine that), but it helps to keep my chronic migraines at bay. I aim to drink between 1.5-2 liters every day, and it really does make such a difference in how I look and feel! I can't recommend this enough.

  1. Water is a must for skin beauty. It makes the skin moisturized under the follicles. It sets me up nicely for moroccan oil to take care the outer skin with nutrients.
