I paint my nails a lot. A LOT. One manicure a week just doesn't seem to cut it for me these days! I've been known to change my nails as many as three or four times in one week. Even if I love the color I'm sporting, I just need something different a day or two later! Check out some of my most recent manicures.
Chanel Paradoxal is one of those colors that I really WANT to love, but whenever I wear it, I'm left wanting something more. The first time I painted my nails with it, I was frustrated that it didn't really look the same on the nail as it did in the bottle. This time, I wanted the shimmer to come out more. It's a gorgeous color in the bottle, but I just wish it translated better on my nails!
For Valentine's Day, I got in the spirit with a sparkly pink manicure. I started with two coats of
Dior Rosy Bow, a gorgeous, creamy, almost neon pink. But this wasn't QUITE romantic enough for me, so then I added a coat of
Essie A Cut Above -- a beautiful collection of pink and silver sparkles of various sizes that, on their own, don't do much for me, but as a top coat? Perfection.
Dior Rosy Bow retails for $24 at
sephora.com.
Essie A Cut Above retails for $8 at
beauty.com.
OPI DS Illuminate had been in my stash for at least two years without me wearing it even once. And it's not that I didn't love the color from the get go, because I really, REALLY did. Who
wouldn't love a holographic taupe with green duochrome? But I just kept holding off on using it for one reason or another. Finally, FINALLY, I pulled it out and went to town -- and WOW. This color is everything I imagined it to be and more! Truly spectacular.
OPI Stay The Night is one of the four colors from the
Liquid Sand Collection the brand launched recently. I have never seen a polish like this in all my years of loving nails! The matte glitter really does look like sand, and I love the black base. But what really makes this color stand out is the reddish-magenta glitter specks baked into the formula. All four of the polishes in this collection are amazing, but this is the true standout.
butter LONDON Sprog just makes me dream of spring! I put this on during a week that was grey day after day after day after ... you get the picture. I just needed something bright and fun to perk me up, and this creamy opaque periwinkle did the trick! And, while I have a problem with the staying power of most butter LONDON polishes, this one lasted without any chips for five days!
