Admittedly, I do not live a very holistic life. Sure, I try to drink green juice sometimes and focus on positive energy. But then I fall off the wagon and eat potato chips and spend three months barely going to the gym. Well, with the introduction of Sphatika to my life, I can safely say I'll be focusing on a holistic, sensory approach to wellness going forward.

Sphatika aims to offer each client more than just treatments. The space is dedicated to the holistic, sensory approach I've already mentioned, which begins the moment you step into the entryway. You're encouraged to immediately remove your shoes and wear comfy terrycloth slippers, which can't help but bring you a sense of peace and immediate relaxation. You're also given a crystal, upon which you're encouraged to formulate an intention to focus on during your treatment. (The crystal is yours to keep, so that you can keep your intention top of mind even after leaving Spahtika.)

While at Sphatika, I was treated to the The Sphatika Signature Experience. This two-hour treatment is designed to make you relax, rest and rejuvenate while your body is cleansed and restored. This happens through a detox of the lymphatic system and a soothing of the central nervous system. If this sounds intense, don't worry -- it's actually one of the most relaxing treatments I've ever experienced! In fact, I nodded off during it.

After receiving your crystal, the treatment begins with a 20-minute period in Sphatika's Far Infrared sauna. I'm really not a fan of heat -- I tend to avoid saunas and steam rooms at gyms and spas, quite honestly -- but I really enjoyed my time in the sauna here. It's a one-person sauna, which alleviates any issues or stresses one might have about other people seeing her body. Also, while it does heat up, it never feels unbearable -- quite the opposite, actually, as it just feels pleasant the entire time.

And then the real fun begins. In the treatment room, you experience an invigorating skin brushing, followed by a relaxing lymphatic drainage massage with Sphatika Orchid Mineral Mask. You're then enveloped in an ayurvedic steam canopy for around 20 minutes while you're given a gentle lymphatic drainage facial (no extractions, just an expert face massage followed by creams and lotions). Now, I'm not going to lie -- the steam canopy gets HOT AND STICKY. Only your face sticks out, and your body becomes completely slick with sweat. I was honestly a little shocked at just how much sweat was produced in only 20 minutes! But never fear, you're rubbed down afterward with Sphatika Hemp Oil Body Massage and made to look and feel better than new.

With the personal sauna, the crystal and the steam canopy, this treatment was like nothing else I've ever experienced. I left Spahtika feeling like a new woman, ready to face any oncoming challenge and with renewed vigor and sense of purpose.
