If you're looking for a truly amazing facial, there's no better place than Dermalogica. I've long been a fan of the brand for creating products that work for a variety of skin types, even skin as sensitive as mine! Most of my very favorite skincare products come from Dermalogica. So it stands to reason that a facial at the Soho location would be absolutely perfect!

I experienced the Dermalogica Skin Treatment, which is a 60-minute facial designed to leave your skin looking beautiful and radiant. My esthetician, Nicole, could not have been more professional or knowledgeable about skincare. This treatment was completely customized to my skin and the issues I was experiencing at the time (which included a pesky, irritated under-the-skin pimple near my nose that just would not disappear).

After a facemapping (Dermalogica's skin analysis), a hand and foot cleanse and some relaxing inhalations with soothing essential oils, Nicole got the facial underway. She began with a double cleansing of the skin, first with PreCleanse and then with Dermal Clay Cleanser. Exfoliation was followed by extractions, which were surprisingly not painful (even though it had been quite some time since I had a facial and there was a great deal of oil and debris trapped in my skin).

Then came the real fun -- two different masks, one calming and one hydrating, in conjunction with a mind meltingly good arm massage. She even used a high frequency electrocurrent to really zap that pesky pimple near my nose, which worked to deliver oxygen to the follicle, kill bacteria and calm inflammation. (News flash: IT WORKED!) Finally, Nicole applied eye cream and Multivitamin Power Firm around my eyes.

The result of this 60 minutes in heaven? My skin gave off a youthful glow, redness was banished and my pimples and blackheads were no more! Truly miraculous.

The Dermalogica Skin Treatment is $110. For more information and to book an appointment, visit dermalogica.com.
