Throwback Thursday: My Love of Crazy Headbands

This wide red fabric headband was my everything in 7th grade. Especially teamed with those huge red and white earrings.

As a kid, I had what one might call a love affair (read: obsession) with headbands. As a small child of 7 or 8, I actually had a bunch of dresses that came with MATCHING headbands, which I thought were the coolest thing ever. But throughout my younger years, my love of headbands really knew no bounds. Take a walk down memory lane with me as I share some of my favorite headband moments.

This was actually taken the same day as the first picture in this post, which happened to be Valentine's Day. I was SO proud of my coordinated red and white ensemble.

Yet another coordinated headband and outfit moment! The day I realized the oversized bow on this headband matched my floral top was a happy one indeed. Seen here with my mom, I believe on our trip to Washington, D.C.

When I was in 7th grade, I participated in something called the Reader's Challenge at my local library, which basically meant I read a bunch of books and competed in a trivia competition about them. (What can I say, I was cool.) Seen here at the competition with my favorite headband of 1993, the black fabric one with a huge tonal flower.

No trip to Disney World is complete without mouse ears! Scored these sparkly Minnie Mouse ones during my family vacation there in 2012.

And lest you think my love of the headband died when I left junior high ...

What can I say? Once a headband wearer, always a headband wearer.
