Well, Zoya, you've gone and done it again. You've created yet ANOTHER nail polish color that I can't live without. This time, of course, I'm speaking of Zoya Leah, one of the colors from the new Naturel Satins Collection.

Truth be told, I never think I'm a matte nail polish lover until I use one from Zoya. The first time this happened was when I used Veruschka, one of the colors from the Matte Velvet Collection. This time, I fell hard and fast for Leah.

Another swatch of Leah. It definitely pulls more lavender/grey here, while it looks more taupe in the photo above.

Maybe it's because of the interesting lavender-grey-taupe hue. (It changes depending on the light -- for example, when I first painted my nails, it looked completely taupe. Now, as I write this post, it's definitely leaning way more lavender.) Or maybe it's because of the slightly matte and rubbery finish, which really does feel like satin -- and which just makes me feel incredibly elegant and well put together even if all I'm wearing is a T-shirt and leggings. (Although, okay, today I'm wearing a dress and heels, but that's neither here nor there.)

I did have very slight application issues, which you can see in particular on my ring finger. I recommend very thin coats or you'll have some bubbling and uneven application. You might also notice some pulling or dragging if you apply the polish too thickly. However, the ring finger was the only place I experienced difficulty.

In any case, this is a color that effortlessly goes from day to night, from work to weekend, from brunch to cocktails. (Or, let's be honest, at brunch WITH cocktails.) Leah, you've stolen my heart.

Zoya Leah retails for $9 at zoya.com. You can also purchase the entire Naturel Satins collection for $54 here.

  1. I love Zoya's Naturels. This shade is a little different from their usual Naturels offerings.

  3. I like this color! Although I wish it was a high gloss instead of a satin.

  6. I'm obsessed with the Satins! Application wise another blogger told me to do one thin coat then one "floating" thick coat and it worked perfectly!

  8. Hmm.... I think this would be such a nice shade for year round... especially something to add to your nails if you're not feeling white. Very nice.
