My Top 10 Travel-Friendly Beauty Essentials

travel, travel-sized beauty products, travel beauty essentials, Marc by Marc Jacobs Pretty Nylon Long Cosmetics Pouch Raspberry
So, I travel. A lot. Just within the past month and a half, I've visited the following cities: Boston, MA; Bloomington, IN; Denton, TX; Las Vegas, NV and Cleveland, OH. AND I have a trip to Los Angeles (yes, another one) coming up at the end of the month. Yes, I know this makes me sound like a total vagabond. No, I can't sit still for long. Yes, I have some very specific travel-friendly beauty essentials (XX of them, to be exact). Check out what I can't live without every time I jump in my car or hop on a plane.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Pretty Nylon Long Cosmetics Pouch in Raspberry
I've had this trusty pouch (seen above) for SO LONG. I really don't know what I'd do without it! I love the slouchy silhouette, I love the color, of course I love the fact that it's Marc Jacobs ... and I especially love how many beauty products fit inside of it! It's my beauty lifesaver. I don't think this specific color is still available, but you can always find new colors and prints at Nordstrom, Shopbop and more.

Yes to Cucumbers Hypoallergenic Facial Towelettes
I am a facial wipes MANIAC. I seriously love them and carry them with me everywhere. And while there are many that get the job done adequately, none make me quite so happy as these ones. They cleanse, they moisturize, they soften, they pretty much do everything under the sun -- and all while smelling exactly like fresh cucumbers. Delightful.

Herbal Essences Naked Travel Size Dry Shampoo
I use the large size of this miracle worker when I'm home ... but when I travel? It's all about the mini. Not only does this make my hair look fantastic (grease and oil be gone!) but it smells delicious to boot.

Want a really easy way to be fancy? Use this toothpaste. Marvis has always been the chicest in terms of toothpaste, so no matter what flavor you choose, you're guaranteed to have a fabulous smile. I'm a bit flower obsessed when it comes to beauty products, so this flavor is right up my alley.

M.A.C Sized To Go Pro Eye Makeup Remover
Honestly, I just stumbled on this one when I was in LA a couple months ago. I needed a new makeup remover and wanted a travel-sized one so I could bring it back in my carryon ... and, lo and behold, this little gem was sitting in the M.A.C store at The Grove just waiting for me to try it. This miracle worker removes even the most stubborn, set in place, not going anywhere eyeshadows and mascaras, all without leaving a greasy sheen on the skin. Sold.

travel, travel-sized beauty products, travel beauty essentials, Sephora Ombre Seamless Hair Ties, ponytail holder
Sephora Ombre Seamless Hair Ties
I've already written about how much I love these hair ties here, but I think they're worth another mention because they're JUST. THAT. GOOD. I love that each pack is ombre color coded (I especially gravitate toward the purple, but I also own them in green, brown and pink) and they don't yank out strands or leave ridges in your hair. They do stretch quite a bit, so the more you use one, the more you'll have to wrap it around a ponytail -- but I think that's a small price to pay for ponytail holders that look this fabulous!

The three products in this line not only nourish and protect my hair but keep the blonde looking fresh for weeks (and even months) after a color appointment. Thank goodness they come in travel sizes so I never have to worry about my color looking its best!

Stella McCartney Stella 1 oz Eau de Parfum Spray
Ah, Stella. The one fragrance I will buy again and again (and again). I've made no secret of how much I love it over the years (seriously, you can see the obsession unfold here), so I'm just glad there's a miniature version that I can tuck into my quart-sized plastic bag on the plane.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream
I've mainly used this cream on my parched hands in the winter (and documented its greatness here, but you can pretty much use it anywhere you need a little extra hydration! It's perfect for slathering on right before a long flight sucks every ounce of moisture from your skin.

  1. Great list! I used to travel a lot for work, and I had a much pared down list especially since I almost could never check my bag and very little goes through TSA these days. But I love the FAB Ultra Repair Cream and anything from Clinique's Moisture Surge line.
