Salon and Spa Directory: Heyday (Psst: Find Out How You Can Save $10 on Your First Treatment!)

I. Love. Getting. Facials. If it wasn't actually bad to treat the skin TOO much, I'd get them daily, or at least weekly. There's just something so satisfying about knowing all the gunk has come away from your pores and your skin is left looking and feeling its best. And when facials are done at a spa as amazing as Heyday? Well, how could I NOT want to go there every day? (Psst: keep reading to find out how you can SAVE $10 on your first Heyday facial!)

Heyday is one of those cult favorite spas that you hope will be as good as the hype. And then, when you finally visit, it turns out to be SO MUCH BETTER. I had the chance to visit the location on Beverly Boulevard in LA and was completely blown away by every single detail.

For starters, the space is so cute! From the fun painted walls outside to the exquisitely decorated communal space within, Heyday ensures you feel special from the moment you park in their free lot -- which is already something most places in LA are lacking! (Like I said, they pay attention to every detail!) There's even a relaxing outdoor lounge area with couches and chairs that I swear I'm going to just relax in for a full day sometime soon!

Upon entering the reception area, I was asked to fill out a questionnaire on an iPad to give a full history of my skincare regimen and any issues I was experiencing with my skin at the time. I waited in the bright, airy lounge for my therapist, Ashley H., to come and collect me, feeling like I had been transported to a quiet oasis in the middle of the bustling city.

Once Ashley walked me back to her facial station, I have to admit I experienced a moment of trepidation. The facial areas are not full rooms, but different stations with side walls and front curtains. I wasn't sure if I would be able to fully relax and enjoy the experience, especially since I was instructed to lie on the bed still wearing my clothes instead of changing into a robe. (Luckly I had worn a comfy jumpsuit!) However, the moment I laid down on the table and was snuggled up under a cozy blanket, all worried thoughts immediately flew out of my head. Ashley had such a calming presence and was so knowledgeable about skincare that we started gabbing right away and didn't stop until the end of the treatment!

I received the 50 Minute Facial, which Heyday refers to as "The sweet spot for most. A comprehensive, deep-cleansing facial that includes extractions." Every Heyday facial always includes a skin analysis, deep cleanse, exfoliation, mask, hydration and SPF protection that are all customized to your skin, but only the 50 and 75-minute versions include extractions.

After analyzing my skin, Ashley recommended that we focus on hydration, brightening and extractions (since I needed some clearing out of my pores in my T-zone). My skin has been acting fairly normal recently, without any crazy breakouts aside from hormonal ones, so this facial was more for routine maintenance than to clear up anything more intense. The facial included products from Alchimie and Eminence Organics, both of which are skincare lines I love, so I was in heaven!

Honestly, the 50 minutes absolutely flew by! Ashley was precise yet delicate -- her extractions were so painless, it just felt like I was getting a face massage. Plus, my skin just felt SO FREAKING GOOD after the treatment was over!

Ashley sent me home with samples of a few Naturopathica products she'd used during the treatment. She also followed up with me in an email to remind me of the main things we'd accomplished during the treatment and a follow-up treatment plan, which basically said I should keep doing what I'm doing! (I told you, my skin has been performing pretty darn well these days.)

I LOVED my facial at Heyday and will definitely be going back. Everything about the space and the treatment was impeccable! Also, a shoutout to the front desk staff, who couldn't have been nicer (and took my photo at the wall outside the spa after my facial was over)!
