My Hospital Beauty Essentials

I broke my ankle last Friday. I was visiting some friends in Pittsburgh, slipped on some ice and down I went. And I don't mean just any break. I broke the tibia and the fibula AND managed to fracture a whole bunch of other important stuff. I've been on bed rest in the hospital ever since, and let me tell you -- it changes things. I'm not someone who ever asks for help, and I don't require much care. I'm extremely independent. So having to rely on other people for everything definitely puts life in very different perspective. Luckily I have excellent care and I'm preparing for surgery #2 on Monday. In the meantime, I've culled my beauty essentials to an eye-popping six products! Lusts of the Week: The Body Edition

I have a long-standing love of bath and body products. I've been using shower gels since I was about 13, and my collection has grown in leaps and bounds throughout my years as a beauty writer. (At last count? I had 16 shower gels in my shower. Too much or just enough?) Plus, I love a good hand cream -- I've been known to harbor at least 10 at a time on my nightstand and in my purse!

Over the weekend, I stopped in Sephora. I had one thing on the agenda -- to pick up my free birthday gift (the big day is tomorrow!). But, of course, there was no way I could walk out without buying a few things. And, while this normally means at least $40 spent on nail polish, this time everything I bought was bath and body related! These are the goods.

Flower Fantasy: Fresh Rose Marigold Floral Water

While I'm not always a big user of toner, I've made an exception so I can include Fresh Rose Marigold Floral Water in my daily routine. It just smells too divine not to spritz it on a couple times a day!
I've always loved face mists. They refresh, they hydrate, they rejuvenate ... they basically perk up both my skin and my mood the second I feel the first spray hit my face. So it's really no wonder that I've taken to this mist, which smells exactly like roses and immediately puts some pep back in my skin's step. I've been using it in the morning and the evening so that I look consistently rested and glowy -- even if on the inside I'm completely sleep deprived.

And, really, what's more sophisticated than rose water? The answer would be nothing.
