My #BlondeAmbitionTour: The Redken Blonde Idol Collection

Now that I'm blonde, I have to use different products to keep my color looking and feeling fresh. The #BlondeAmbitionTour series gives you an in-depth look at the products and treatments I'm trying, and lets you know whether or not they work!

I really didn't realize that going blonde would be quite so much work. Sure, I knew I'd have to do more maintenance than I did as a brunette or a redhead. (Those dark brown roots? Not so cute with blonde tresses.) But I didn't know I'd have to completely change up my product regimen! Enter the Redken Blonde Idol Collection.

Triple the Fun: Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask

Post a comment!

Neutrogena, Neutrogena hair products, Neutrogena hair mask, Neutrogena Triple Moisture, Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask, hair, hair products, hair mask, maskI have a confession to make. I don't deep condition my hair as much as I should. As a result, it's often lackluster, dry and brittle -- and, the worse it gets, the more I know I should be deep conditioning it and the more I just don't. It's a vicious cycle. Enter Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask.

Oh, how my locks were begging for this mask to be slathered all over them the last time I washed my hair. I couldn't even think of the last time I deep conditioned or got a hair treatment at a salon, so they were in pretty dire straits! On the mask went, and there it sat for about five minutes, working its magic.

The formula is rich and thick but not greasy or heavy, which I love. Olive, meadowfoam seed and sweet almond extracts work to moisturize, penetrate and wrap every strand in intense moisture (hence the "Triple Moisture" part of the name).

Immediately after rinsing, my tresses felt smooth, conditioned and moisturized. But I've had that happen with deep conditioners before, only to discover my hair looked just as fried once I blowdried it. Not so with this Neutrogena mask. After I blew my hair out -- and before I even took a flat iron to it -- my strands looked healthy and felt unbelievably soft and lush. And once I flat ironed? Well, all bets were off, because MY. HAIR. LOOKED. INCREDIBLE.

And best of all? This mask is only necessary once a week, which even I can manage!

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask retails for $5.99 at drugstore.com.

I have curly hair. You'd never know it, since I have mastered the blowout and the art of the flat iron. But yes, it's true ... underneath the sleek, shining tresses I so painstakingly work to achieve each day lies a mass of seemingly uncontrollable curls and waves.

It would be an understatement when I tell you that these curls are the bane of my existence. They don't look pretty when left to their own devices ... they lie every which way, some corkscrewed, some pulled out ... all, well, less than sightly. So when I had the opportunity to try the new Bumble and bumble Curl Conscious Nourishing Masque, I jumped at the chance to see whether my locks would finally, finally lie flat.

What's Up, Doc?: Yes to Carrots C Is For Hair Care Hair & Scalp Mud Mask

Bugs Bunny may just be onto something with all those carrots he's always munching on. While I've been told since I was a kid that carrots are good for me and contain all sorts of important vitamins and nutrients, I just never seem to be able to get into eating them, whether I'm plucking baby carrots out of a bag or gnawing on a huge one that just came out of the garden. But then I happened upon the Yes to Carrots C Is For Hair Care Hair & Scalp Mud Mask, and instantly I saw what everyone's been talking about all these years!

It really packs a punch with tons of nutritionally great for your hair elements, like Beta-Carotene, Alpha-Carotene, Vitamin E, pumpkin, orange, honey ... and, of course the main ingredient, carrots! A single application during my shower (I left it on for about 10 minutes), and my hair was soft, silky and shiny like it hadn't been in weeks. (Thanks a lot for that, Mother Nature.)

I just hope Elmer Fudd doesn't come after me!

"Shea" It Isn't So: Frederic Fekkai Shea Butter Hair Mask

How to restore shine, smoothness and life to otherwise lusterless locks? Masks are the key. And for a long time now, this beauty chick has kept her favorite product to herself, worrying that it would fly off the shelves before she had a chance to restock! But the time has come to let you in on the secret. What is this wonder of wonders? Frederic Fekkai Shea Butter Hair Mask!

The slender tube contains some of the creamiest, richest, most moisturizing treatments around. Formulated with shea butter -- good for softening everything from knobbly knees to scaly elbows -- this conditioning mask is aided by the addition of macadamia nut oil to really pull out all the stops. And the longer you leave it on, the softer and more gorgeous your tresses will look and feel! (This beauty chick recommends applying at the beginning of your shower and leaving it on for at least 20 minutes.)

Frederic Fekkai Shea Butter Hair Mask retails for $23 at drugstore.com.

Dry. Lifeless. Dull. All words that can be used to describe yours truly's hair on a bad day. How could I hope to change this fact, you might ask? Luckily, with the entering of Kerastase Masquintense For Fine Hair into my life, these words have been replaced with better ones such as "shiny," "healthy" and "silky."
