Throwback Thursday: The Thrill of Getting a Cabbage Patch Kid
If you were a child of the 80s, you wanted one thing and one thing alone. A Cabbage Patch Kid. Since there was no such thing as the internet back then, toy stores were absolute madness, especially around Christmastime. Well, my grandma braved the elements and went out to buy me a Cabbage Patch Kid of my very own.

My Recent Beauty Empties
I don't know what it is, exactly, but I love seeing all the beauty products my fellow bloggers use up. I've decided to get in on the trend of showing off what I've finished, too! Introducing my new column, My Recent Beauty Empties. These are all the products I've finished as of late.

Zoya Island Fun Collection for Summer 2015: Swatches and Review
Once in awhile, there's a nail polish collection so spectacular that I'm in love with EVERY. SINGLE. COLOR. Well, such is the case with the Zoya Island Fun Collection, one of two they've created for Summer 2015. (The other one, Paradise Sun, is just as fabulous.) Island Fun is made up of six juicy, bright cremes that are perfect for summer manicures and pedicures. Read on for swatches and my review of each color in this nail polish collection.

Beauty as Art: Balenciaga Florabotanica and Rosabotanica Fragrances
Once in awhile, a product comes along that's so undeniably beautiful, there's nothing you can do but pine and yearn for it until it becomes yours. In the case of Balenciaga Florabotanica Eau de Parfum and Balenciaga Rosabotanica Eau de Parfum, this feeling became twofold.

Throwback Thursday: Rocking My Favorite Sweatshirt Ever
In the late 80s, I had a small obsession with very tactile clothing. This was the era of Madonna, of John Hughes, of puffy paint, of crazy neons, of ice cream rolling your socks, of layer upon layer. It was also the era of clothing that incorporated prints with textures, as is the case with the ballet dancer sweatshirt I'm wearing here.

My Skincare Holy Grail: Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick in Porcelain
You know what's super fun? A huge, unprecedented eruption on your face. Especially when you're on a belated birthday trip to Las Vegas with your brother and it comes out during your first day there. (Yes, this just happened to me a few weeks ago.) This was seriously a case for the big guns ... so I ran instantly to the Sephora across the street from my hotel and purchased the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick in Porcelain.

Throwback Thursday (With a New Video, Too): Once a Piano Player, Always a Piano Player
I started playing piano when I was 7 years old. Well, actually, I probably started tinkering around with the piano when I was 2 or 3 -- but my mom waited until I was 7 for me to start taking piano lessons. I was so excited when I finally began learning how to play for REAL. (I wasn't always the best at practicing, but that's another story.)

Oldie but Goodie: Rescue Beauty Lounge Scrangie Nail Polish
One of my all-time favorite nail polish colors is Rescue Beauty Lounge Scrangie. I snapped this color up when it was first available in 2009 and haven't looked back since.

Duty Calls: First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Remedy Overnight Balm
I don't mind growing older. Seriously, I really don't. But a side effect of aging that I think could fall by the wayside? Wrinkles. I would be truly happy if I never had to see another wrinkle for the rest of my life. Thanks to First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Remedy Overnight Balm, that dream is quickly becoming a reality.

#ManiMonday: My Nail Polish Stash and Storage
Anyone who knows me knows that I have what one might call an obsession with nail polish. It's the one beauty product I never need to buy ... and the one I can never seem to say no to once I'm inside a Sephora or Ulta. I've amassed quite the collection over the years, and for a long time I had a vision of displaying all of my gorgeous polishes in racks like you see in nail salons. I've wanted to do this since I lived in New York, but never made it happen ... UNTIL NOW. I finally made the leap and displayed all of my nail polish just the way I always wanted!
