Holiday Gift Guide: Laura Mercier Warm Roasted Chestnuts Candle

I look forward to Laura Mercier's limited-edition holiday candles all year. No matter which scents are created, they always really say "holidays" to me ... and, of course, they smell amazing. Such is the case with the Laura Mercier Warm Roasted Chestnuts Candle.

A blend of roasted chestnuts, nutmeg, spicy berry, clove and warm vanilla completely envelop the room and just make it feel so homey. I've been lighting the candle for only 20 minutes or so every day and my entire apartment smells absolutely incredible! I recommend lighting it just before bed so that your bedroom smells absolutely delicious. The only problem is it might make you hungry!

If you're looking to really get in the holiday spirit, this candle is definitely the one for you. And I have to say, the burn time of 40-50 hours certainly doesn't hurt.

New on My Radar: SKEEM Scented Candles

I totally love when new beauty brands come up on my radar. And when the brand is as intriguing and beautiful as SKEEM, liking it is a no brainer.

While these candles smell fantastic -- and they do, they really do -- what I love most here is the packaging. The sweeping designs on the jars are inspired by vintage fabrics and wallpaper patterns -- and they're so gorgeous, they can be reused after the candles have finished burning! I for one am looking forward to using my jars to hold cotton balls, Q-tips and the like in my bathroom.

The scents really are fascinating. I've been burning the half-pint Dune Sage candle ($14), a unique mix of moss, sage and three types of beach pine. It's a sensuous mix of crisp and fresh woodsy notes that just fill a room beautifully -- and the half-pint burns for a whopping 50 hours!

I absolutely love living in New York. But there's one thing my apartment is missing -- a fireplace. Luckily, the organic ecowood wick of the Dayna Decker Leila Candle elicits a delightful crackling that sounds just like a roaring fire!

That would be enough to keep me happy and occupied for hours ... but even better, the scent is divine. Part of the Botanika collection, Leila is infused with notes of grapefruit, bergamot, dewberry, lemon flower and amber musk. At first glance, I was both intrigued and wary of the note combinations in the Trish McEvoy Orange Ginger Scented Candle. How could these two intensely tangy scents combine in a way that wouldn’t be disastrous and horrifying?

Luckily, I was pleasantly surprised by the aroma wafting out of the 3 oz. jar. The vibrant scent lent just a hint of spicy deliciousness to my living room as I watched TV the other night. Truth be told, I want to savor every single moment of this candle -- because it’s one of the more unique in my collection!
